Qatar Superstock 600 Official launch

The Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) and Lusail Circuit Sports Club (LCSC) on Friday announced the launch of a new championship for local riders Qatar Superstock 600 to be held in December this year. The announcement was made by QMMF President Abdulrahman al Mannai at a function at the Lusail International Circuit which is currently hosting 2016 MOTUL FIM World Superbike Championship.
The presentation was also attended by the Lusail Circuit Sports Club Vice-Chairman and Secretary-General Khalid al Remaihi and riders Kenan Sofuoglu and Saeed al Sulaiti.Mannai said he was very pleased to present the new championship."I would like to thank Lusail Circuit Sports Club for this great job. It is very exciting for me to announce this new championship. We want to open the doors to new riders and we want to keep the costs down," the QMMF President said.We want to assess the skills of young Qatari riders and this is a fantastic platfom. We want to thank LCSC again for helping us achieve this. The new championship will be launched in December and will comprise six rounds," he added.Remaihi also expressed delight saying,"This is a perfect platform to nurture young talent. Its an opportunity for local riders from the region, even from Turkey and neighourbourg countries to participate. It is our pleasure to have finally a championshp like this where the competition level is same for everyone. It is your talent that proves if you are good or not. Also it is a great chance for us to aassess our riders. Everybody is welcome to join us."Later, dwelling more on the development, Remaihi explained,"We have been thinking of doing more for the public. From the first of January to the end of June this year weve done a lot of work in this regard. We are not super humans, but we are trying to do our best and open the track for everyone to come and enjoy. "We want people to come to the track, bring their motorbikes, bicyle, and do their activities even run. Its as a whole for the families. We have world class facilities and we hold world championships but we also want people to come and make the best use of it and enjoy with their families at the same time. Its part of our social responsibility.The registration for the championship will start on November 5 and end by the end of that month. Top 28 riders plus 2 wild cards will make the qualification grade.Five-time WorldSupersport champion, Kenan Sofuoglu said,"I have to say congratulations to Qatar. Superstock is a class where many riders want to start. I started six years ago. I know what this means. It is good for riders to learn from this stage. This a good way to find new talent.Saeed al Sulaiti, the only Qatari rider to participate in a full season in the World SBK Championship and score points, said,"To reach the world class category is a dream for me and to take part in this great championship.Having the Qatar flag in this championship is a great honour and I am very proud of, he said. "I am very excited to see this new championship as it will be the first time that all the bikes are the same in a championship here in Qatar and it will be very interesting to see the talent of the riders," he added.
