Al Naimi grabs last Superpole in thrilling finale of Qatar Superstock

Mishal Al Naimi grabbed the crucial and last pole position of the season of Qatar Superstock 600 championship in another exciting finish at the Lusail International Circuit.Al Naimi who leads the championship only by one point ahead of Saeed Al Sulaiti, knows the importance of a good position on the grid for the final two races of the concluding round of the season.‘I am happy with the results of today. I did the Superpole with used tyres because in the second practice I had a problem with the bike as it was difficult to ride with new tyres, so I decided for used tyres and it worked much better and found a good set up. I am sick these days since Wednesday and I have some fever and hopefully tomorrow I can feel a bit better’ said Al Naimi.Al Naimi clocked 2:04.482 on his third out of seven laps and was faster by only 0.042 ahead of Saeel Al Sulaiti who came in second place with a time of 2:04.524.‘The plan this weekend was to find a good set up because in the last round I didn’t feel really good with the front and that caused me to crash so we did a lot of changes in the FP1 and in FP2 we found a good set up and I feel more confident with the bike and do fast laps and ready for the races. The Superpole was really tight but it general I am very happy and see what we can do tomorrow in 12 laps. I also want to congratulate Abdullah who did amazing today, he got into 2:04 breaking his lap time and hope tomorrow we can have a nice race as last round with a battle of 4 riders not only 2 so it is going to be fun for everyone’ Al Sulaiti stated.Abdullah Al Qubaisi is continuing his great performance. Al Qubaisi who had a problem in the last round with the gear box, didn’t take part in the FP1 as the bike was not fixed yet but mechanics change it for the FP2 and Superpole and the young Qatari rider did his best lap time, 2:04.904 and will start in third place on the gid. ‘For today, finally I broke my record, I did 2:04. I didn’t enter FP1 because the gear box was not fixed but I managed to ride in FP2 that was good and later in the Superpole I had a good feeling with the bike and managed to be third and start tomorrow from the front row’ Al Qubaisi commented. In the QSTK Trophy category, Kuwaiti rieder Mohammad Al Zaidan was the fastest rider ahead of Essa Al Mutawa and Soud Al Thani. In the Qatar Touring Car Championship, as the championship is already decided for Abdullah Al Khelaifi, now all the pressure is for Hamad Al Asam and Adham El Dib to get the second place in the final podium. In the Qualifying, Al Asam managed to get the pole position and he will start in front of El Dib who did the second best lap time.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
