Al Sulaiti and Al Khelaifi on pole again

The Qatarsupertock 600 Superpole was again for Saeed Al Sulati, the defendant QSTK Champion and leader in the standings. With strong winds hitting the track, Al Sulaiti managed to do the fastest lap, 2:04.840 and he will start tomorrow in first place at the grid in front of Mashel Al Naimi.‘First of all, I want to say that in this round we start with new suspension on the bike and I want to thank QMMF and Lusail Circuit for organizing a private testing day before the race weekend as it gave us a lot of information with this new set up’ started Al Sulaiti.‘For FP1 & FP2 we were really focusing on riding with used tiers to set up the bike with the new suspension. We made a good set up, not perfect, we still need to work more with the set up, it is a bit complicated, especially with the track conditions today as the wind was really strong and every hour the wind was getting stronger and stronger. But I am really happy to set this time, it is a quite fast lap time compared to the track conditions so I am quite happy. We have some changes that we will apply in the warm up and see how it works and good luck to everyone’ ended Al Sulaiti. The second position in the grid will be for Mashel Al Nami, who clocked the time at 2:05.399.‘It was very difficult to make a good laptime today because of the weather and also I didn’t find a good set up today with my bike. I tried from yesterday in the test to make an easy bike but it is difficult for me to keep the rhythm but I don’t know what happens. We changed all the bike from stocked bike to Ohlins suspension and we are trying since yesterday until the Superpole to find a good set up but not succeed. For sure tomorrow during the warm up I will try something different and hope we can make it better and get good results.Congratulations to Saeed for the Superpole and good luck to all the riders tomorrow’ commented Al Naimi.Nasser Al Malki and Fahad Al Sowaidi will start in third and fourth place respectively tomorrow from the grid.In the QSTK Trophy, the fastest rider was Essa Al Mutawa, with a lap time of 2:11.854.At the third round of Qatar Touring Car Championship, the pole position was again for Qatar’s Abdullah Al Khelaifi with a time of 2:24.491 during the Qualifying session.Al Khelaifi was very satisfied with the results of the day ‘Today practice session was ok, I found a good balance. In the qualifying session I tried to drive in the light side of the track where the asphalt was hot. I couldn’t get my timing up; the time was still slower than in the practice. I waited for the sun go down so everything was cooler and I managed to broke my time. My plan tomorrow is just to stay ahead until the first corner and to get away from the 2 Honda cars because then I can build a good gap’ commented Al Khelaifi Hamad Al Asam, with Honda Civic car, will start tomorrow from the second place with a lap time of 2:25.744 and the third place will be for Mansour Al Hajri, 2:28.838.Tomorrow, QSTK Race 1 starts at 11:30 and Race 2 at 14:30. For QTCC, the first race is scheduled at 13:00 and the second race at 16:00.Qatar Superstock 600 and Qatar Touring Car Championship are organized by Lusail Circuit Sports Club and Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation with Pirelli Qatar and Inside as sponsors of both championships. The Karting track will be also opened tomorrow Saturday from 2pm to 7pm.Find attached the results and photos.
