Ibrahim Al Abdulghani fastest driver in the opening round of QTCC

The new season of Qatar Touring Car Championship kicked off today at Lusail International Circuit with a participation of 15 drivers.Making his debut at the championship, the Qatari driver Ibrahim Al Abdulghani was the fastest driver during both two sessions and he set the fastest lap in the Qualifying 2:25.703.‘This is my first time I take part in this competition and I like a lot the friendly atmosphere here. I am glad that during my first time I join this competition I am setting the fastest lap time. I will do some changes tomorrow to my car and let’s see what happens ‘Al Abdulghani said. The defendant champion, Abdullah Al Khelaifi came second in the Qualifying practice with a lap time of 2:25.997 and thinks that this year it will be hard to defend the championship title.‘This year the competition is very hard as we have the biggest grid ever, with a total of 15 drivers. The qualifying session was so hard that the top 6 drivers, were in 2.27.5 and that was the pole position for last year and now 6 drivers are doing that time so definitely it is more challenging and it will not be easy to defend my championship. My car is running ok, but compared to the pole position driver, he has better power in the straights and in the corners, we have similar speed so I am planning tomorrow if I start good I might catch himrnon the corners and try to get away as soon as possible.Saadon Al Kuwari got the third best time, 2:26.040 ‘We have been working hard this summer to have more entries and stronger competitions, some drivers were testing in Europe and we also got new data from Toyota and new updates in the cars. The car is very good, the competition is very close and fast, half a second between the first and fourth and that’s unusual timings. The race will be thought for sure tomorrow I will not leave them’ Saadon Al Kuwari said.Tomorrow first race will be at 16:35 and the second race at 19:35.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
