QATAR KARTING CHAMPIONSHIP DELIVERS THRILLING FIRST FIVE ROUNDS AS TITLE RACE HEATS UP AT LUSAIL

The 2025 Qatar Karting Championship, organized by the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) and supported by the Qatar Motorsports Academy (QMA), has delivered five exhilarating rounds of competition at Lusail International Circuit, setting the stage for one of the most competitive seasons in recent memory. From the opening round in April to the fierce battles witnessed in Round 5, the championship has showcased Qatar’s rising motorsport talent across a high-intensity series of races on LIC’s 1.124 km karting track.

The season began with Aleksei Guzov claiming a dominant victory in Round 1, storming to the top with a best lap of 1:03.921 and finishing the 12-lap Grand Final in 12:55.953. Danish Qureshi and Mohammed Al Thani followed closely behind, both setting competitive paces in an event that laid the groundwork for what would become an unpredictable and fiercely contested championship.

Round 2 saw a commanding performance from Tameem Hassiba, who led from lights to flag to take victory with a 5.531-second margin and the fastest lap of the round at 1:02.773. Mohammed Al Thani once again featured on the podium, finishing second ahead of Gabriel Al Badawi. The championship format remained consistent throughout, with drivers navigating practice sessions, qualifying groups, pre-finals, and the all-important Grand Final on race day.

Just two days later, Round 3 produced a dramatic shift in momentum as Karim Rizkallah claimed his first victory of the season in a tightly fought Grand Final. Holding off a determined challenge from Victor Litaudon, Rizkallah finished the 12-lap race in 13:58.321 with a best lap of 1:08.618, while Al Thani secured another podium in third. The battle across the field underscored the growing competitiveness of the championship, with multiple drivers now emerging as potential title contenders.

As the season progressed, Round 4 delivered yet another shift in momentum, with Tameem Hassiba returning to the top step of the podium following a closely fought battle. Hassiba edged out Omar Aswat by just 0.185 seconds in a race where early frontrunners Aleksei Guzov and Karim Rizkallah finished third and fourth respectively, keeping the championship battle tightly packed. That victory set the tone for the highly anticipated Round 5 Grand Final held on June 16. In what proved to be the closest finish of the season so far, Karim Rizkallah secured his second win, edging out Tameem Hassiba by just 0.152 seconds in a race that saw the top four drivers separated by less than two seconds. Owen Morris clinched a well-earned third-place finish, marking his strongest performance of the season. The Grand Final kept fans on the edge of their seats from start to finish and closed out the season in spectacular fashion.

After five intense rounds, the 2025 Qatar Karting Championship has come to a close with Tameem Hassiba crowned champion, finishing the season with a total of 80 points, highlighted by Grand Final victories in Rounds 2 and 4, and consistent top-tier finishes across the championship. Karim Rizkallah claimed second place overall with 72 points, delivering standout wins in Rounds 3 and 5 and maintaining a strong presence in the front pack throughout the season. Mohammed Al Thani secured third place in the standings with 58 points, underpinned by his podiums in Rounds 1, 2, and 3, and a resilient performance across the championship. Early season leader Aleksei Guzov, who dominated Round 1, finished fourth overall with 52 points, while Abdulla Al Malki rounded out the top five with 42.5 points, showcasing impressive consistency. The season delivered a thrilling display of emerging talent, close finishes, and competitive depth, cementing the QKC’s role as a cornerstone of grassroots motorsport in Qatar.

The 2025 Qatar Karting Championship once again demonstrated the nation’s commitment to grassroots motorsport development, providing a competitive and professional platform for young drivers to hone their skills. Over five rounds of high-level racing at Lusail International Circuit, the series delivered on its promise to nurture emerging talent and spotlight the next generation of Qatari motorsport stars on one of the region’s premier karting stages.
