Qatar Motorsports Academy celebrates QMA Challenge 1st Round
Qatar Motorsports Academy celebrated the QMA Challenge 1st Round on the 7th December at Lusail Circuit Sports Club in QMA area where a total of 44 children took part in the event.
The QMA Challenge is a new championship with three races scheduled during all the 2019 / 2010 season.
All the young riders that have been training during the season competed in the on road track (Karting Area) in different categories: 18 riders in Minimotard 70, 11 riders in MiniGP 110 , 4 riders in Supermotard 125, and 6 riders in SSP300.
There was an exhibition with 5 beginner riders in the Rookies category where they practice different technical exercise in front of the public.
In the category of Minimotard 70, there was a Last Chance race to decide which riders pass to the Final Race. The British rider Bobby Danvers and Qatari rider Shaikha Al Remaihi finished first and second respectively so they joint the Final Race.
In the Minimotard 70 Final race, the victory was for the American rider Salman Pathan, who complete the 8 laps with a total time of 6:25.322. Pathan was followed by the Spanish rider Miguel Roda and in third place by Agatha Muscolino from Italy.
In the category of MiniGP 110, there was also a Last Chance race where the first and second position was for the Malaysian riders Alya Maisarah and Johaan Ameer Zarfan respectively.
In the MiniGP 100 Final race, the podium was for last year’s winner in the Minimotard70, Nolann Macary from France, who completed the 12 laps with total time of 8:12.228. Egiptian rider Mahmoud Elbanna finished second and Carlos Baquero finished in third place respectively.
There was one Final race only for the Supermotard 125 with the victory of the Italian rider Nicola Muscolino with a time of 8.46:164 to compete the 12 laps. Sami Salvaggio from Belgium finished in second place and the Malaysian rider Syafiq Bin Zairin completed the podium.
In SSP300 there was also one Final race, with the victory of the Qatari rider Hamad Al Saouti with a time of 8.21:492 to compete the 14 laps. Saad Alharqan also from Qatar finished in second place and the French rider Alexian Macary completed the podium.
Trophies were presented by Mr. Khalid Al Remaihi (LCSC Vice President and General Manager), Juan Baquero (LCSC CEO), Jose Luis Cardoso (Head of QMA) and QMA Coaches Alberto Moncayo, Ruben Herrera, Andrea Sibaja and Mateo Túnez.
The other rounds will be held on the 4th April and 18th April.
