FIM President meets woman riders at QMA

Newly-elected FIM President Jorge Viegas visited the Qatar Motorsport Academy (QMA) and met with woman riders enrolled at the special facility inside Lusail International Circuit (LIC).

The FIM President was accompanied by Khalid Al Remaihi, the Vice President and General Manager of Lusail  Circuit Sports Club (LCSC) and QMMF President Abdulrahman Al Mannai.

The visit was conducted during the opening round of the 2019 MotoGP World Championship.

The FIM President was informed that the QMA was launched in November last year to help young riders improve their riding skills but due to the huge demand of ladies that want to learn how to ride a motorbike, the QMA is providing riding courses to the ladies.

"Qatar is helping young riders - boys and girls - in all ages to help them learn the sport from the experts," Al Remaihi said. “Also, we have special classes for female riders wanting to improve their skills set. These lessons are conducted on Tuesday at the QMA. The feedback we received is very positive and we want to encourage more ladies to join us " he added.

The FIM President also chatted with female riders enrolled at QMA and praised Qatar's role on developing young riders including girls and the promotion of motorsport in Qatar.
