HE Minister of Culture and Sports lauds Qatar Motorsports Academy

During the opening round of Qatar Superstock 600 and Qatar Touring Car Championship held at the Lusail Circuit Sports Club this weekend, the Minister of Culture and Sports His Excellency Salah bin Ghanem al Ali visited the newly launched Qatar Motor Academy (QMA) where he met with young riders at Lusail International Circuit (LIC). The Minister praised the initiative of Lusail Circuit Sports Club together with Dorna Sports SL and Aspire Academy to provide to young riders the opportunity to be involved in motorsports and physical activities. A total of 71 children have been selected out of 211 from different nationalities and the admission of 24 Qatari children into the Academy is a great success. The Minister said QMA was the perfect place for young bike enthusiasts to learn about riding. He added Qatar fully backs young talent picking up the right lessons and pointed out that ‘QMA is one of the initiatives offered by Qatar and welcomes all citizens and residents. HE Salah bin Ghanem al Ali mentioned that hopefully more Qatari children will join the academy in the future and this academy is a perfect platform to provide good training opportunities to the European riders during winter season. The Minister added the academy aims to create better relationships with other academies around the world to hopefully one day get names like Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah, Qatar’s premier rally star with two Dakar Rally titles.
